Monday report

Ian Sharp reports from Deeside:

"Five Boys ( was it a chocolate bar in the 60's ? ) again today - including a new " old Freewheeler " !

Other riders were Ian Sh / Scott / Jeff / John Meaden.

Given that he was making his comeback the Old Boy chose a modest ride to Drumoak Blacksmith and back - on what was a lovely mild day - and indeed the sunshine came out again as we progressed.

However as we paused at the Myrebird Junction and looked up what we considered a modest brae, we persuaded the " comeback kid " to try a new route for him up that way.

He managed it fine at his own pace - and we progressed up to Harestone crossroads where IS and " comeback kid " headed straight on toward Banchory, leaving the " athletes " to journey round via Hirn Studios - and all 5 arrived back at Tease at the same time via King George Park.

A nice " loosener " of around 13 miles for the " comeback kid " 's return to the fold, during which he maintained his original Freewheeler Rules of no

sweating / no out of puff / -   and ( virtually )  no hills - and the bonus

of a lovely day with no wind .

As we enjoyed our coffee / cakes the new old boy even had the confidence to suggest a Platform 22 ride next Monday - hope this does not knock him off the rails !!"
