Strava stats

Nice to see other Freewheelers on Strava now - Jeff Dickens, John Meaden, Mike Reilly and Malcolm Lodge - and I am now able to report on the following recent "others" rides:

  • Friday
    • Ian Sh & Colin - Myrebird - 25 kms - 140 m
    • Les - Algarve - 32 kms - 190 m
  • Sunday
    • Les - Algarve - 23 kms - 102 m
    • Malcolm L - Torphins/Strachan - 54 kms - 583 m
Malcolm's ride (on a road bike) is the longest recorded to date.

Yesterday (Monday) was the usual Freewheelers afternoon ride - at the slightly later time of 1:30 pm. Rob is this week's star reporter:

"Gents, yet another Freewheeler ride started in Strachan, but strangely the peloton was waiting for Jeff as he zoomed through Banchory. This made a record-ish 14 for the ride to Drum via the back end of Crathes castle. As coffee was slurped a straw-poll was taken on the question of the moment and the result was 13 'Remain' v. 1 'Leave'. The one leaver will remain anonymous but it begs the question....what the hell does Boris (and Aiden) know that we don't??

The usual blast back to Banchory with PB's being scattered along the way. Malcolm nearly did 'The drop of Doom', on the Crathes gravel side-track, but his brakes saved him. Please don't expect me to remember all the names of my 13 comrades....try and put the names to the yellow jackets in the photo!!
And finally, a word of sympathy for Jeff, who still had 3 more (uphill) miles to do after he dropped the peloton in Banchory. I think he should get a special mention in the OberGruppenFeuhrer's end of season rant.

Keep those spokes spinning, Rob  :-) "

John M supplied the team photo, taken by a civilian and edited a little by me:

John also supplied the following photo, complete with the caption "Confused Freewheeler Loses Bike‏":

Here's the usual route map, courtesy of John P:

John's Strava declares this run to be 35 kms with 218 m of climbing.

Too hot here in Adelaide to cycle - hope it cools down and I can get on the bike again before we head home at the weekend.
