Last week's fine cycling weather has given way to Arctic conditions this week - the Seniors golf match yesterday was postponed, by mutual consent, and, if anything, this morning has been even worse with regular snow squalls and reports that it's lying higher up the valley - the Cairn o' Mount road is closed.
All of this has restricted cycling activity yesterday and today, but there has been some activity over the weekend. On Friday, Jeff was, as he put it himself, "muckin' aboot on Mullach" and there was an afternoon B team Myrebird/Drumshalloch ride, which finally brought Archie out of hibernation for his first ride since 11th January. On that occasion, Archie had a slight fall and he repeated this on Friday - he really must ditch his stirrups surely? Keith, Colin, Ken P and I made up a Fantastic Five who, as usual, ended the ride with a swift pint at the Legion:
The Run Balmoral event at the weekend attracted at least one Freewheeler - Chris - and Rufus has been jogging away on vacation on the Portugal/Spain border.
The Algarve weather was somewhat milder than Deeside, allowing Les to get out on his bike again yesterday. John M also managed to get out late yesterday afternoon, tackling Hill of Goauch again, where he came across a bit of trouble en route:
