Hallowe'en and Hallow(?) rides

Halloween or Hallowe'en (a contraction of All Hallows' Evening), also known as Allhalloween, All Hallows' Eve, or All Saints' Eve, is a celebration observed in a number of countries on 31 October, the eve of the Western Christian feast of All Hallows' Day. Not a lot of people know that, I suspect.

John Meaden submitted the following match report and photos from Monday afternoon's ride:

"Dark short and a bit wet but good fun.

Strava says 24.5 k and 195m .

9  athletes gathered -  Jeff , Jack , John Mo , John L , Iain W , John P , Dave W , Drew , myself.

Plan was get to the Milton dry - almost worked .

Route was Mill of Cammie direction , left up to the wind turbine junction , left back to crossroads then right down the hill and left down to the Slug.

A short main road section then 2nd right and downhill to the South Deeside .

Another short main road haul then in to the Milton - good coffee and fresh scones then the damp cruise home .

Note the extra 5 k home for Jeff - not much light left for that .

A pleasant enough ride missing the worst of the rain - nothing too scary for Halloween

I think that was the report unless you get a better offer."

It was much nicer on Tuesday morning - and perhaps a little surprising that only Dick and Ken P took up my offer of a 10 o'clock Trundle. We headed east through the West Gate at Crathes and out towards Hirn, then along to the Cullerlie road where we turned down to the Deeside Way and back to Milton for our scones:

A modest 28 kms with just 150 m of climbing.
