Monday minus a few

Mike Reilly is this week's reporter and also supplied the route map, and John Morton the photos:

"Ian Wright was designated route-master and I dont know if his enjoyment of climbing had any direct effect on the low number of 4 participant's. Having just returned from skiing and having my garage roof replaced in the morning I made a last minute dash to join in the frolics' and by a stroke of luck saw the group from a distance turning through the gate to the riverside - several minutes' later we were a group of 5!

We followed the riverbank before climbing up to the shooting green's and we were fortunate that the conditions' were dry but a bit windy. After a brief stop I suggested an alternative route to getting to the Finzean cafe via Balogie and Corsedarder and this was welcomed as a good option by the group to make best use of the south westerly wind.

After a nice climb past the monument we descended upon the tea room where we had fun in the cafe with a total lack of sconnage and orders for coffee and water being forgotten! Continuing on the fun theme we went to the playpark with signs that said: "only children to use the facilitie's" - not enough to stop us big kids!

The return route took the usual format via Strachan and Bridge of Cammie and we split up for home from the Guide Hut - all in all a very enjoyable afternoon :)
The Apostrophe Vigilante!"
