Freewheeling Week

With a number of us away golfing at Boat of Garten, just 2 FW's showed up for the usual Monday afternoon ride - Mike and Jeff, with the former supplying the following brief narrative and route map:

"Just the two of us but we had a fine time! we went along the Deeside way and had sconnage at the Drum. Following that we felt we had enough fuel on board to head up to Durris then over the Garrol to Strachan where Jeff headed home.

Jeff forgot to start his Strava and my ride was integrated with the rest of my day's cycle but for the record Jeff and I cycled 35 km at an ave of 19km/h and 280m ascent.
I've attached a pic of our route"

Jeff supplied a slightly alternative version:

"Following Mr Sharp’s instructions, we agreed to share the honours of “Best Looking Attendee”, but since this is always true whenever we turn up, the outcome was never in doubt.

For the records, I agree the shared distance Mike and I did was 35km for GH to the bottom of Kirsty’s Brae, but since an “official route" includes the return to the Guide Hut, we need to add 6km to that  distance, making 41km for the database.  On ascent, I had 260m of climb just for the bit from Drum where I had Strava on, so the total for the official distance must be at least 300m, maybe as much as 350m."

On Tuesday morning only the B.o.G. golf champion responded to my late call for a short spin. Jack and I headed east along the Way and up Myrebird, past the recording studio, through Drumshalloch Wood, past the brewery and home - a shortish 23 kms/153m.

There was a better turnout on Thursday morning - 8 headed for Finzean via Shooting Greens. Mike again did the honours:
