Here's the Gruesome Twosome here:
Ian's match report follows - it came in after I'd posted the above:
"Only TWO ( where were all the others ?? ) turned up for today's run - Dick and myself .
Given that the temperature was MINUS 2 we decided to
start off on the sandy route East on the Deeside Way and this proved a good
choice with little or no ice.
A good pace was set and our first stop was at Drumoak
Post Office where a decision was required - head further east to Drum GC for
coffee - or what ??
Dick had not done the run we had recently via Woodlands
of Durris so i suggested we do it the other way round.
So we crossed the River at Drumoak and climbed up an
" ok " hill to Woodlands of Durris.
Top of the Hill was photo opportunity ( See Dicks photo )
and then head Westward - which included passing Dave & Doris Edwards old
house and then along the quiet country road - basked in sunshine - passing the
former country pub of Crofters to Slug Road.
After 400 yards we turned left resulting in a further climb
to our well known hilltop beside a farmhouse, where we stopped to admire the
view towards Banchory bathed in Winter Sunshine. Where would One rather be ??
We set off downhill towards Tilquillie - but at a more
modest pace as most of this road had not been in direct sunshine - hence we
were more sheepish about the pace in case of black ice !
But with no incidents to report we returned to the safety
of Tease - with "
ruddy cheeks " and ready for a well earned coffee.
Dick reckoned we did around 30k in the 2 hours we cycled
but i am sure his Strava Report to follow will contain all the exciting details
!"
