All go for the Freewheelers!

The busy week of cycling activity continued - the Freewheelers were busy across the globe. Robin reported from Portugal:

"In portugal for a week.Just cycled up a massive hill on the coast yesterday which would have earned me 3 red cards back home! It took 10 mins to freewheel back down and I dived into the sea to cool down only to be whistled out by a lifeguard and told I was in a red flag no swim area!
And I thought i'd escaped the red card."

No photograph though?

I went out again yesterday (Wednesday) here in Grants Pass, Southern Oregon, following a similar route to the day before - but this time on my daughter's new hybrid. It was a slightly longer ride this time, albeit still only 23 kms. I'll need to try and get out even earlier in the morning before the heat of the day kicks in - the forecasters are telling us we've got at least a week of 100 + temperatures ahead of us. Here I am, posing in the early morning light:

Back in Deeside, Ken P supplied this week's main Thursday Freewheelers match report:

"Just five (Les, Dick, Ian S, Jeb, Ken) set off on a dull and damp morning, heading south over the river towards Durris. Eventually crossing over Park bridge we headed towards the Milton coffee shop but Ian Sharp led us on a new routing around and underneath the Stonehaven  bridge then westwards alongside the river towards the Milton.  With the weather improving rapidly we stopped off and sat outside a fisherman’s bothy in some decent sunshine- almost like summer!  Coffee and scones ensued albeit with Jeb taking the revolutionary step of choosing a bacon roll. A nice run with Les ensuring that a good pace was maintained throughout."

Keep it up, chaps!
