Thursday etc

Scott reported on yesterday's outing:

"Thursday 1st October 2015

Only three bikers showed up at the Guide Hut, Les, Mike, and Scott, Robin was a late call-off.  It was a glorious morning but a wee bit nippy in the shade so it was decided to stay in the sun as much as possible.  We headed off over Bridge of Feugh and up Mill of Tilquhille and east towards Knappach on to the Slug Road and then East again through Durris then down the long brea across the South Deeside Road and over Park Bridge into Drumoak. We then headed West along the Deeside Way.  At this point Les hit his afterburners and took off leaving Mike and I in is wake, never to be seen again until we arrived at Crathes.  Into The Milton for a fine scone and coffee then home to Banchory.

Garmin stats; 20.2 miles 1473ft ascent 1440ft descent."

In other news, I finally have a "new" bike! Yes, my almost 40 year old Dawes has finally been replaced - courtesy of John Meaden, who has got himself a brand new bike, so I've bought his old one:

Enthused by my new toy, and wanting to travel further afield, I put new cross rails on my car, with the intention of fitting my old bike rack on them - only to discover the old rack doesn't fit the new rails!:

Ah well, back to square one.
