"Day 3 started with an unavoidable cold and windy soaking as we had to make the 1030 am ferry from Berneray to Leverburgh . Only an hour cycle but a bit of a shock to the systems after 2 dry days .
It was dry on Harris and with the strong wind on our
backs again we set sail up the west coast route looking across to Taransay and
some truly stunning beach landscapes . We took a beach detour and there was some paddling and a lot of dozing off in
the dunes .
The support team joined us for lunch at an excellent craft
centre and cafe with an 'infinity' deck where we took a full team photo.
After lunch we left the coast and began a long and fairly
stiff climb before descending into Tarbert for dinner and overnight at the
Harris Hotel .
Another superb day and again we had dodged the worst of
the weather .
