Back for a B team bimble, banter, bakewells and booze

For me it was a very pleasant return to a B team cycle on Monday afternoon. Having been away for 10 weeks, I chose a fairly gentle Park ride. We were 7 in all, including 3 e-bikers, 2 of whom had passed the permitted minimum age for assisted biking.

The weather was fair with clear blue skies, albeit with an occasional chill in the wind. The outward run passed through the West Gate at Crathes and turned back home after the fast downhill to the Park shop, now sadly closed, seemingly permanently.

The usual return along the DW took us neatly to a surprisingly quiet Milton of Crathes, but first of all, a team shot:

Me, Bill, Archie, Keith, Colin, Malcolm L and Stewart
Malcolm told us all about his annual trip to Cape Town for the massive cycling event with 35,000 riders (none of them electric), but the peace and quiet of the Milton was soon rudely disturbed by the arrival of the A team - 11 of them. Time for us to go then.

Malcolm had to dash home to complete his chores so he headed back along the Way, whilst the rest of us meandered back up through the castle and round past Tesco, the brewery and the Cowshed. At the top of Lawson Avenue, Colin headed home and Stewart went back to the Guide Lodge where his car was parked, whilst Archie, Keith, Bill and I went down to the Legion where we were joined by Dan and Jas for a couple of beers - initially on the terrace, but eventually Archie persuaded us to go back inside.

Here's the stats:
