Blackhall loop

A very healthy turnout of 8 of us on a lovely morning yesterday, including another debutant - Rob Pollard. We hadn't any route planned so decided just to head out towards Blackhall again. This time, however, we didn't just loop straight back, but, instead, headed up the hill a bit and climbed the lower reaches of Scolty which then gave us a long downhiller.

Here's the official team photo at the riverside:

Dick Taylor, John Perry, Rob Pollard, Ian Stewart, Scott Hunter, Malcolm Lodge, Les Gray & Colin Kilgour
Tea/coffee and fruit scones with cream and jam at the Falls of Feugh was the order of the day - and we had them out on the terrace:

Rob obviously couldn't wait for the photo to be taken!
Total distance covered was 19 kms.

Next week, all present are available on Thursday and there was a suggestion to go past the Falls of Dess and have our coffee stop at the World Horse Welfare near Aboyne. This would involve cars driving down to Potarch so we decided to meet at 9 am at the Guide Hut. Les was trying to encourage a cycle through to Potarch beforehand, but I suspect he's on his own on this one, but if anyone is going to do this, they will need to be at the car park at Potarch by 9:15 am.

Rob has done some calculations and the likely distance next week will be similar to yesterday's ride.
