"Dreich ride to Durris
No
maps! Sort of an idea… if we go up to Tillybrake and on towards Durris. Mmm how
does that work? Ah no Tillquihillie, that’s what I meant and we could go on as
far as The Lairhillock. Isn’t that a bit far? Sounds like a lot of uphill. Well
we could always bail out and cross the Dee at Drum Oak and back along the South
Deeside Way. Yes, and coffee at Tease. That’s a plan, so that’s what we did.
Quite a lot of uphill (300m according to Strava), but not too steep, enough to
be able to carry on a conversation whilst grinding uphill.
So
we arrived back at Tease looking like the drenched group cyclists we were,
aware we were trying not to make too much of a mess of Stewart’s chairs. So
Ian, Scott, Ken, Robin and John sat down to a fine cup of coffee and reflected
on life the universe and everything. Robin did take the short cut along the
High Street, because (so he said) he couldn’t bothered with all the ups and
downs and ins and outs of threading through the Morrisons - cemetery - park
route. Hey ho, to be honest my feet were wet and frozen by this stage as well,
must get a new pair of shoes that will stand up to the Deeside winter wetness
for Christmas.
P.S.
Where were Archie and Rob? Wimped-out I think. Shocking!
P.P.S.
No photo - it was too wet and nasty to get the phones out…"
