"The Magnificent Seven ride again:
The aforementioned seven (Ian Sharp, Scott Hunter, Dick Taylor, Robin Brodie, Jeff Dickens, John Perry and Rob Pollard) met at KGV on a fine, brisk morning. There was an immediate argument over who was going to get the Yul Bryner role, as the magnificent seven rode out of town; but it went to Robin for some reason. Anyway, I was the Steve McQueen character and I can't remember the rest. Yul had his personalised map, xmas present at the start, but we never saw it again!!
We toiled up the hill past Les Gray's house, onto the Cairn o'mount road and thought about the short-cut from Bogendriep, but eventually went on to the AA box and back down to Strachan. A long grind into a fresh westerly wind brought us to Finzean farm shop. Here, two reprobates eschewed the glorious scones in favour of bacon-butties!! Its so difficult to get the right sort of Freewheeler these days.
Well fuelled and wind at our backs we swept back to Banchory, having ditched Jeff in Strachan. Lovely sunny day, great views and good company. 23 miles. No tumbles, although there were one or two icy spots."

Photos also from Dick - sideways again. Blogspot doesn't like it when you lay the camera that way, Dick!:
