"We (Ian Sh, Dick, Scott, John P, Rob and Robin) met at Guide Hut at
9.30am today and spent the first 10mins trying to sort out my gears with some
success. This involved repair by committee where some people twiddled
various plastic bits on the bike , others agreed the chain was out of line and
one even suggested taking the whole matter to the bike shop.
Then we were off to the Burnett Park which John took us round in
the opposite direction to the one way system. What dare devils! At the first
stop on the back road to the Brathens Centre Rob regaled us with his escapades in
and out of a sauna in Finland . Our faces were red and it wasn't just from the
cold wind!
On we went by Glassel and the usual farm tracks and back roads
to Torphins and the delights of Platform 22!. Then round the Campfield loop
where the West wind had somehow turned East into our faces but we had no
complaints as the sky was blue and the views magnificent.
Thence back to Banchory at 12.30pm after a fine morning out.
Further trips were discussed possibly involving The Lecht to
Dinnet, Loch Muick toLochnagar Distillery and back to Ballater and bike racks
but these may have to wait for warmer weather?
Scott is providing the statistics under an email headed
"Ski Run at Wengen" and Dick took the photo from the top of a wheelie
bin.
Well that's it for this report.
