Thursday ride in Adelaide

It was early Thursday morning, so in keeping with Freewheelers tradition, it was time for a cycle, so I decided best to do it before breakfast. Note to self - 3 things to remember:

  1. Take water to hydrate
  2. Slap on sun cream
  3. Take a pump with you
You've guessed it - I didn't do any of the above - and guess what? I had a slow puncture which meant I had to walk the last mile or so.

My plan was to try the Loop Route round Port Adelaide but when I got there, it was partly closed as they were setting up a bandstand for a gig tonight, so I headed back towards the beach and took the coastal run north again, stopping for a few photos on the way, including this one on Semaphore Pier:

Anyway, here's the stats for my 25 kms ride - https://www.strava.com/activities/250592296

I seem to be a bit fated with cycling equipment. We were down in the Fleurieu Peninsula at the weekend and the house we were renting had a couple of bikes in the shed, so I thought I'd try them out. I managed just a few miles before the awful noise emanating from the chain - even worse than my old 30 + year old bike back in Banchory - told me it was time to quit - but not before I got this photo of the bay at Carrickalinga on a coolish, cloudy morning:
