We stopped at the castle for the team photo:
The distance was a very modest 15.4 kms and we were back in Tease in just over the hour - https://www.strava.com/activities/265876265
The afternoon A team report comes from Ian Sh:
"Decision the postpone Monday’s cycle run to today was great – from high winds and sleet of yesterday to a breeze and sunshine today!!
Four dedicated cyclists – John (
Mc W ), Jeb , Jeff and Ian (Sh ) set of from the Guide Hut at 1pm and agreed to
head west into the breeze via Glassel & farm road heading towards Torphins
but this time crossing main Torphins road to take side road to Torphins – runs
parallel to main road.
Good choice – and loads of nice
houses to view en-route as we approached Torphins.
The traditional pit stop took
place at Platform 22 – and it was so nice that we sat outside ( see group pic )
where John looked a bit bemused ( see photo ) with how his hot
chocolate was presented !!
They do things differently in
the “ sticks “ John !! Anyway he thoroughly enjoyed it – along with a
rhubarb scone .
Suitably refreshed we headed
back the normal side road to the filling station – superb south / west views as
we cruised down this road – and came back via Glassel and Home Farm to
Banchory.
The photographs were sent by Ian:
"My stats (which include Strachan<>Banchory section): 37.3 km (23.3 miles) and 645m ascent/descent.
