Bogendreip - Feughside - Shooting Greens

Rob is today's guest reporter:

"Gents, polling day dawned with a fresh westerly wind and when the Select Six (Ian St, John McW, Ken P., Scott, Dick and myself) met at the Guide Hut, we found that it had been converted to a polling station, overnight. I don't know what this says about voter apathy, but I have never seen so few people down there. Maybe the presence of 6 thugs dressed in the bright yellow and black SNP colours put off all the true Tory burghers. As always on polling day which way to go, move to the left and go down(hill)wind or take the right way and head austerely into it. Of course, being floating voters we did neither and headed liberally across wind, to the south.

Up past Les' house with its abundance of UKIP and SNP signs and on towards the foothills of Kerloch. To avoid the Mullach hill we took a new track through Knockhill farm and emerged at Knockburn Loch. On via Kirsty's Brae to Bogendriep, where our consciences made us go along the green track towards the Feughside Inn. Being political weather-vanes we assessed the which way the wind was blowing and decided, by proportional-representation, to adjourn to the Feughside Inn for coffee and scones. Again we enjoyed liberal helpings and had an overlong political discussion around the empty jam-pots. The consensus of 6 men meeting in a dark room was that there would be a Tory-Labour coalition. Afterwards, in the continuing spirit of democracy, Dick decided that we were going to tackle one of the longest hills in the known universe and go home via Shooting Greens.

(later...)
..arriving at Shooting Greens we then had the adrenalin rush down to the river and back home to vote. Thanks guys, your politics might be suspect, but you make a good peleton!!

Dick was impressed with the new sign at Knockhill Farm:

The team photo was taken at Bogendreip, with us all giving a Sharpie salute:
