"Just Ken P and John McW for today's outing. For the second time in the last few weeks Ken turned up minus his rucksack which contained his house keys, puncture repair kit, miscellaneous bits and pieces and........his wallet!! Rummaging through my pockets I concluded that I had enough cash to cover his scone and coffee so we decided on Platform 22 in Torphins as our coffee stop. We also had to make sure that Irene got home before keyless Ken so we rather controversially headed off in an easterly direction.
A brief description of the route is.....head east to
Crathes via a combination of Deeside Way, Crathes Castle grounds and Deeside
Way again. Then we headed north, observing the construction of the new
crematorium on the way, and then eventually joined up with the Hirn road. From
here it was south and then west, crossing the Raemoir Road and along the ITE
road taking the usual Glassel route through the farm and onwards to Torphins.
Cinnamon scones, coffee and hot chocolate were consumed and ......note to Ian
Sharp....there was no need for any further accounting as the coffers were now
depleted.
Meanwhile, on the other side of Europe, Ian Sharp reported on Sunday:
"Hi fae sunny Athens.
Today's " Tour de Athens " ride.
Note the "Yellow Jersey " as leader !!
Olympic Stadium ( new ) in distant background.
With son Graeme who was doing a 12k training run in
preparation for THE Marathanos to Athens marathon - finishing in original
Olympic stadium .
